Make a Plan

Each adoption plan is unique and customized to fit you. We will help you as you make the following decision:

Choosing an open, semi-open, or closed adoption

You can choose if you would like to meet with the adoptive parents before or after your delivery, have little contact, or no contact. Ultimately, you decide how much contact you have with the baby after their birth.

Choosing the Adoptive Family

You have the option to choose the adoptive parents. Each eligible family has completed extensive background checks, home studies, and education. They are eager to raise a child in a loving happy home. Click here to view our waiting families.

Delivery and Medical Care

You are able to receive assistance with medical costs for pregnancy and delivery for you and the baby. We will help you apply for Medicaid or you will receive financial support from the adoptive family. As we develop a birth plan we will help you choose where you would like to give birth and whom you would like to be present during the delivery.

Paperwork

We will work with you to complete all necessary paperwork and documentation to complete the adoption.

Support Through Pregancy

You will meet with a Loving Heart Adoptions advocate throughout your pregnancy to offer emotional support and guidance. We can connect you with community resources including assistance with prenatal care, food, ID’s and clothing as well as provide transportation to appointments. If needed, we will also help you apply for Medicaid.

Placement

72 hours after the birth of the child, birthparents can sign documents relinquishing their parental rights. We will help and guide you in this process. The relinquishment could occur in the comfort of your home, Loving Heart Adoptions’ office, or another location.

Types of Adoptions

Open

  • An open adoption in which the birthparent(s) choose the prospective adoptive parent(s). There is full disclosure of identifying information between the prospective adoptive parent(s) and the birthparent(s). All parties meet and are free to establish the level of relationship that is most comfortable for all concerned. This type of adoption generally consists of ongoing direct sharing of letters and pictures and may include periodic visits.
  • Please note: You do have the option to make a Post Adoptive Contact Agreement before relinquishments are signed with a lawyer, which will ensure the agreement is legally binding.

Semi-Open

  • As a semi-open adoption, the birthparent(s) may choose the prospective adoptive parent(s). The two families may decide to meet at the agency to agree on an adoption plan. Last names, addresses, and other identifying information remain confidential. This type of adoption generally includes ongoing sharing of letters and pictures through the agency.
  • Please note: You do have the option to make a Post Adoptive Contact Agreement before relinquishments are signed with a lawyer, which will ensure the agreement is legally binding.

Closed

  • Adoption in which the agency determines the adoptive parent(s). The parties involved have no direct contact and no ongoing communication - all information remains confidential.

Choosing the Adoptive Family

Depending on the adoption plan you choose, you have the option to select the adoptive parents. Each eligible family has completed extensive background checks, home studies, and parenting education. When you begin the adoption process, we will show you multiple prospective adoptive family profiles to consider that align with the preferences of both parties. Each family is enthusiastic about raising a child in a loving and happy home. Click here to view our waiting families.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the time commitment for the Masterclass?

The New Work in Action Masterclass is facilitated over 6 weeks with 4 hours each week of live, virtual training sessions. The classes are split between lecture-style and interactive workshop-style sessions, with a total of 24 contact hours of training. There are optional sessions you can also join after the course -- this includes virtual office hours for follow-up questions & discussion or peer community meetups.

How many sessions are there per week and which days?

There are 2 separate sessions per week on one fixed day per week: the first part is a 2-hr lecture-style class and the second part is 2-hr interactive workshop. After the 6-week Masterclass, additional Q&A office hours will be available as follow-up option. The tentative schedule for the cohort starting in Feb/March is: Thursdays or Fridays weekly (depending on group scheduling) 8-10am & 10:30am-12:30pm

Can I request a spot if I'm not 100% sure?

Yes, you are welcome to still request your spot! We will follow up with you personally to discuss which course dates could work for you, or if any alternative course dates can be offered in the future. Payment is not required up front to request your spot.

What are the community features? Am I required to participate?

You are invited to join an optional peer growth group following the course; the kick-off for this group will take place during the digital Masterclass. Additionally, you will have a lifelong access to our network of alumni who have participated in our New Work & Leadership trainings. You are not required to join follow-up community activities, but we think you'll enjoy this additional part of the professional experience! :)

What if I can't make every live session?

In case you are unable to attend live sessions, recordings may be made available for a limited time period with the permission of the other class participants.

Is this class relevant for company internal/team trainings?

Yes! Please see our workshop offerings for teams linked in the header, or write to us at office@bia.team for more information on fully customizable training courses and pricing for teams.

Is the training also available in German?

The New Work in Action class is taught in English for the dates listed. If you are interested in a German-language training for teams or companies, please write to us at office@bia.team and we would be happy to chat about options!

Valeria, Birthmother

“My experience with Loving Hearts Adoption Services was very unique. They helped me place two children, a boy and girl. Although it was a quite difficult situation, the staff was friendly, helpful and professional. I have a total six children. All of whom I love and adore. The families of children are so far as I've noticed loving towards kids. They are a great agency to go through when faced with such a troubling situation.”

Aurora, Birthmother

“My baby was matched perfectly with careful thought and a lot of love. My child is being raised with all the love she needs. I recommend anyone who wants to give their children a better life to call Loving Hearts Adoption Services."
